Role of health coach
Q: Why? You may be asking yourself...Why should I hire a coach?
A: Life can be hard...especially when we try to do it all on our own! Healthful choices that result in sustainable change around diet and lifestyle aren’t easy.
With me as your Health Coach, I provide a supportive, safe space to make diet and lifestyle changes. Asking questions so you can effectively and efficiently improve your health. This often includes identifying habits that are no longer useful and developing new habits that are in alignment with your values. Through this process you will gain perspective, self-awareness and many skills on how to live the way you want to live and reach your desired outcomes.
Together we will co-create your plan. You will make mistakes along the way. I will be there when you need to circle back and try again. I will listen and together we will navigate the world of contradictory nutrition and health advice to discover what works for you. When appropriate I will bridge the gap between your doctor and you. I can provide customized meal guides, appropriate resources, and materials that support your goals. Our sessions can be in person or virtual. The programs that I offer are always customized to help you meet YOUR health goals.
We are all wired for connection and have the potential to thrive when we allow others to help us tackle the hard stuff. Life is not intended for us to navigate it alone. Sometimes we need some help to get us where we want to be. Be open to it and you will Discover Your Healthier Happier Self.
Q: How do Health Coaches fit into the current healthcare model in the US and why are they becoming so common?
A: Numerous different ways and simply put, our epidemic of chronic disease has demanded that the model make some changes. Research is now making that very clear! The cost and ineffectiveness of treating chronic disease in the same way that we treat acute and traumatic medical conditions is not sustainable.
I TRULY BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE IS DOING THE BEST THEY CAN WITH THE RESOURCES THEY CURRENTLY HAVE.

Q: What can I do for you? What do I believe?
A: We are each unique and my style of coaching puts you in control of your own health. Reach out and let me be a new resource for you. You know better than anyone what is ultimately best for you. I will offer you customized meal guides to address inflammation, help you tune into your body and become more aware of your thoughts, guide and support you to a life with a healthier, happier you. Goals may involve food choices and/or building stronger relationship with self and others.
RELATIONSHIPS, A PLANT-BASED DIET (with or without meat), ACTIVE LIFESTYLE, and IMPROVED STRESS RESPONSE can change the course of chronic disease and improve and/or eradicate it completely. It’s NOT about eradicating things that generate stress. It IS about becoming more aware of our response to stressors, incorporate new habits and as a result levels of stress lower.
My role as your coach is NOT to diagnose but support you on your health journey. If you are currently working with a practitioner please let me know so we can collaborate on your care. Together we can help you get the outcome you desire. My services are not to be used as a replacement to seeking medical advice.

Q: Can I actually change my life in a way that will stick?
A: If you choose to, YES! “She believed she could. So she did.” My practice supports the belief that there is always an underlying root cause to our health problems. With increased SELF-AWARENESS, SUPPORT and ACTION profound sustainable change in health will happen.

Q: Will these changes be easy or quick?
A: No. It will take time and practice. You will not navigate any of this perfectly. You will feel stuck at times. You will make mistakes along the way and I will be there to support you on your journey and hold you accountable. If you don’t trust yourself now, you will learn what it means to build that with yourself. Taking ACTION in areas that create breakthroughs will be UNCOMFORTABLE, and totally FREEING!
