Energy! Where do we get it? Sign me up for more please:) Oh, wait…we’ve already got it??? Say what? How do you figure?
Eating healthy can be easy and convenient. Regardless, much of the time we still don’t make it happen. We get so caught up in the life around us dictating what happens next. Putting ourselves in the drivers seat of our own life seems to be easier said than done. Where do we get the energy to keep up when there’s a lot going on? Why does it feel easier some days and impossible other days? Is it possible that we actually have all the energy we might need within ourselves? Maybe we just tap into it better some days then others….There are multiple major factors to consider and I’ll discuss one here, FULFILLMENT. The others will be left for another day:) What might help increase energy flow to get what you want in a given day?
Let’s consider the idea that when we feel fulfilled we have the energy to do the unthinkable.
What keeps me from feeling fulfilled?
-distractions, beliefs that aren’t serving me, head centered existence (thinking, analyzing and talking too much), mindlessly allowing others to dictate my next move.
What helps me feel fulfilled?
-engagement with environment, connection with people, time in nature, connection with myself, meditation, act of being playful, act of being creative, act of smiling/laughing, act of giving with compassion, act of receiving love, the act of being curious.
When I feel fulfilled I have enough energy…
We heal from the inside out. It all begins in the silence of our awareness. Moving out to our thoughts, feelings, and eventually to our physical body. Take a moment to write your answers to these questions.
What keeps you from feeling fulfilled? What helps you feel fulfilled?
What do you notice when you answer these questions for yourself?
OK so now you’ve taken the time to write the answers to these questions. You’ve got a plan on how your gonna show up different and before you know it, you’ve got the fulfillment stuff all figured out! (Ok, so in reality, know we bounce in and out of awesomeness but let’s stay with the linear thought:) You start taking action to feel it and now have energy!
Circling back to food, and what we put down the hatch…
Do you have the energy to plan or at least be intentional about what you eat?
Tools such as Meal Guides work when you have the determination and discipline to do it. A fleeting thought of eating better, ain’t gonna cut it. That is simply a good place to start. Take a moment to let that thought soak in. Visualize it. Often we lack the belief in ourselves. Give yourself a chance. You may surprise yourself.
Now, do you believe you can do it? What are your beliefs around planning meals? Where can you source the energy from to make it a success? It’s all 100% doable by you. Believe in the possibility, be intentional and use the tools. Are you not much of a planner or not even interested in trying to be one?
